WhatsApp Community Guidelines
Please read our WhatsApp community guidelines below
The WhatsApp community is intended to be used by lipoedema patients to communicate easily with each other about lipoedema-related matters.
By joining this WhatsApp community, you are sharing your phone number with other members. You always have the option to leave the group. It will never become an “admin only” group because the purpose of setting this up is to be a support network.
At times, the groups can get busy. If you find it overwhelming, you have the option to silence the group notifications. If you decide to leave the group at any stage, we will be sorry to see you go, but you are more than welcome to rejoin at any stage.
By joining the community, you are agreeing to follow the WhatsApp guidelines.
If your message is not relevant to the majority of group members, please consider whether it is more appropriate to reply by way of a personal message.
It is not necessary to respond to every post unless it is requested — e.g. RSVP, votes, etc.
Please be mindful of the time you post a message. Early in the morning and late at night are discouraged, where possible.
4. Respectful Communication
Please remain respectful in all communications. Opinions expressed are those of individual members and may not be representative of the whole group. Group administrators are not responsible for comments posted by individual members.
Inappropriate posts include business-related promotions (personal recommendations are acceptable providing it is not for a business that you are financially connected with), inappropriate language, gossip, and voicing grievances with individual members of the group. For any individual issues, please raise these directly with one of the administrators.
Messages within WhatsApp are considered private and should not be shared outside of that group by any member without permission.
Do not share any photographs or videos in which a member appears unless that image has already appeared on the public platforms (website, social media accounts) or you have received the permission of the member.
6. Weight Loss Medications
Buying and selling of the product is forbidden. All conversations relating to Ozempic, Mounjaro, Saxenda and other diabetic/weight-loss medications must only be discussed in the GLP-1 sub-group. This is out of respect for people in the group who are directly affected by diabetes.
We must remain sensitive at all times. Please do not encourage people to start using these medications as it is something they should discuss with medical professionals. The purpose of this group is to share if the medication helped you or not.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this 💜
